I'd ask something along the lines of, "What the heck were you thinking when you went and made yourself sick by drinking gallons of water and then went and threw up on the rug that I had JUST cleaned because mom was being an idiot?." To one of my many dogs, T, who's a lovable idiot of a chocolate lab. It's so hard to stay mad at him, though.
